We find references to part of the word Omahare in many spiritual traditions as far ranging as Zoroaster, Hinduism, Sikhism, and Buddhism to Native American Indian tribes. For me, Omahare is as connected to Christ consciousness as it is to the Buddha self.

“Om” is the sacred sound that permeates everything, “A” the Atman, the self, known after enlightenment or soul and “Hare” are creative healing forces abundantly multiplying. Om is also the self within, the ultimate reality and the cosmic and sacred sound that permeates all realities. Om aligns us with the divine, creative energies and with our God and Goddess forces; it helps us to link to our soul-satisfying prosperity. Hare (or Hari) also means the removal of evil or sin and it invokes the name Vishnu, the destroyer of samsara (entanglement in the death and birth cycle) to transform ignorance, the cause of samsara. It can be found in the oldest Sanskrit harivamsha lineage of Vishnu and as far back as Zoroaster. In the Grant Sahib we find Hari mentioned 8,500 times. Hari is also a color, a tawny golden and green uniting the soma.
